I have a question. What if someone gave you an Idea on how to improve one of your tents and you found it great and used it? would you compensate them for it? and how? big C

We welcome feedback from customers that would like to see product performance improvements such as water or wind resistance, dimensions, or ventilation and we listen to that advice and adjust manufacturing to make our products better. If someone has an idea for a new design, then we will make a production quantity of tents for them and they retain the rights to the design exclusively, and they are responsible for the sale, warehousing, and marketing of their product and we will not make that design for anyone else.

I purchased a #644 Wall Tent this past winter. We used it in Ontario fishing last week. It rained torrentially 4 days in a row for as much as 14 hours at a stretch. The tent did great! Absolutely not a drop of water entered the tent. The sun broke the very last day of the trip and at 5:30 am that morning we're in the tent listening to a pack of wolves howling across the bay from the island we were camped on. Perfect ending to the trip....a dry tent and wolves howling in the near distance.

Is there anyway i can view your tents in the portland oregon area. They all look very nice online but nothing beats seeing them in person. If there isnt, what is your return policy if im not completly satisfied?

Thank You

Our core business is tent manufacturing in quantities for commercial customers and we have a small line of tents that we offer to our consumer customers. We do not offer our tents for sale in stores at this time so unfortunately there is nowhere to view them except at campsites across the country where you will see countless examples. We have a 30 day return policy as detailed on our website at the following link: http://camptents.com/faq.htm#Tent%20or%20Camping%20Product%20Return%20Policy

How long wold it take to get a canvas wall tent to california?

Anonymous said...

We bought a cabin tent it was listed as a three room but the tent is only a two room. this was not a big deel for our family. which is Myself wife and 4 little girls. we set out tent in the back yard first and it seemd ok with a light rain and some strong wind. we then took in caming for over a week it did great in a couple of good fall thunder storms. the set up it a little more challenging and the directions are not great but two people can do it. the fly was the worst part it realy did not exist as far as i was concerned but even with out the fly is did not leak in a light rain. i bought a tarp and some rope for the bigger storm just in case and it also helped to hold some heat on the cooler nights. over all i am happy i hope it lasts for years as planned. definatly better than a light weight tent with fiberglass poles.

243 days until our 35th annual canoe trip. What's the status of the pop up tents? Can't wait to buy!
Thanks!

We are looking at completing the redesign of our pop up tents by late summer of 2008.

Well, I finally found the tent that I want...a Pinnacle wall 9 x 12 tent with rain fly. Unfortunately, according to their website it's out of stock. Also unfortunately, there appears to be no way to get in touch with this company and ask when it might be in stock. I can't find a phone number, and their home page appears to be out of business. If anyone out there can direct this company to a possible sale, please have them contact mark@markrossphoto.com

Kevin said...

Mark, we are still in business and busier than ever. Our phone number is 877-379-8269 and our consumer website is www.camptents.com. All items are currently in stock. We are working on improving our commercial site at www.pinnacletents.com and that is why you haven't been able to access it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I ordered a screen tent a few weeks ago. It arrived a few days later, but there was some damage during shipping. I called Pinnacle up, and the next day they shipped a replacement. I have to say that I LOVE the new tent. It is functional, adjustable, a good looking tent. Thank you, I can't wait to get out camping, and get some use out of it.

I would like to order a voyager (#10022. When are they going to be available? We have one the zipper broke, and we are still useing it. Will the price still be $110.00? Please get back to m. I've been looking all over for one of these tents!!! They are Great! jinman@rhsnet.org
Thank-You

Kevin said...

The voyager is being replaced by the XPP60 as shown on our consumer tent website at www.camptents.com. It was redesigned with a zinc plated spring steel frame covered with PVC to replace the fiberglass frame, waterproofing to 2000mm and comes with a small rain fly. It should remain under $200. It should be available in September 2008.

I am interested in buying your canvas tent #647. How many of these units have you sold and how many users have needed to replace bent or broken members to the frame? One thing that worries me is the curved tubing at the corners. In my experience with other cabin style tents (nylon), this proves to be a real weak link, and I am a bit concerned that replacements are not visible on your website.

Kevin said...

We have 1000’s of our canvas tents in the field used by outfitters, companies to house migrant workers, the military, and various other organizations and individual campers. If the canvas tent is set up properly then there is no problem with the steel pole frame and we have not had issues with this. We do carry parts for all of our tents and they are available by contacting us for replacements.

Wondering if you have some type of security a/e sand bags etc to hold the bottom of the tent to the ground. Or, can you suggest such?

We are thinking of purchasing the umbrella type (quick up) screen room #682. This is about the best idea ever. A secure bottom to keep the "pests/bugs etc" out would really be a plus.

Please advise to jamprusa@windstream.net

I'll be interested in hearing from you.

We do not have any sandbags to provide to secure our tents but our customers have used 55 gallon drums of water (or smaller containers) to accomplish this. Our #682 Screen Tent has a sod cloth at the bottom of the screen tent. This is a 6" piece of material that rests horizontally on the ground inside the perimeter of the tent to seal gaps. Some of our customers even put a tarp or indoor/outdoor carpeting down over the tent sod cloth to form a floor in the tent. This works well and provides a temporary removable tent floor that can be replaced as needed.

We are considering the #770 Condo 4 room tent. Can someone who has actually used this tent please reassure me that it will not leak? We recently started camping as a family with our three little boys (ages 3, 2 and 11 months). During the first we took this past weekend the tent we had leaked like crazy and the baby woke up in a little 'lake'. As we look for a replacement we are very paranoid about leaking. Thanks!

Grace said...

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your interest in our tent. #770 is one of our popular tents, and we have thousands in the fields. The water proofing is 3000mm, all seams taped. A lot of our customers love the design and construction of the tent. You can go on our blog and there is a specific section for 4 room cabin tent(our customers affectionately refer as "the condo"), and you will find a lot of comments from customers on this tent.

We recently purchased an 11'X 11' screen room, but due to some difficulties we have not been able to use it as yet. But the response and support from Grace has been absolutly fabulous. With her help we hope to be able to use the screen room shortly. We can't thank you enough and will recommend you to all who are interested in purchasing products that you carry. Thank you again.

Tent #647, could a longer rain fly
be purchased for a front door awning??

Kevin said...

As a tent manufacturer, we can make any design tent but we only carry a limited number of tents for our consumer customers. We do not manufacture a 12X16 tent and the rain fly on our canvas tents does not include an awning. However, we always take suggestions and as demand and warehouse space permits we modify designs and manufacture new products. Thanks for your inputs for our customer’s future products.

I am interested in our 11 by 11 quick setup screen tent. Do you have outlets in Australia or can you ship

Cheers Chris

Kevin said...

Chris, we don't have a distributor in Australia for our screen tents and the shipping costs would be higher than the cost of the tent so it is not economical to ship there.
